Handmade in Portugal
Portugal is famous for its exceptional quality leather goods, handmade by skilled artisans.
Our designer vegan bags are made near Porto, in a small workshop of about 20 craftspeople. Founded in 1975 by a young man with a passion for making bags on his sewing machine – the business is now run by his two adult daughters. Although retired, the founder still loves to come in, get back on the tools and spend time with the team. Some employees have been with the business for over 40 years.
Like all traditional makers, the team has worked with animal leather all of their lives. In the past, they were unimpressed with synthetics – but they were wowed by the beauty, feel and sustainability of MIRUM®, and are excited to be a part of the next generation of leather.
