Los Angeles – PETA pals Lizzo, Chrishell Stause, Ireland Baldwin, and Travis Barker are in for a sexy surprise this Valentine’s Day: a PETA gift basket packed with all the cruelty-free and vegan items they could want for a naughty night in, including GLYDE and UNION’s strawberry-flavored condoms and lubricant—which contain no animal ingredients and are never tested on animals—as well as Lolliwraps chokers and fox masks, which are made of 100% plant-derived corn leather.

“There’s always a cruelty-free way to pleather oneself and a loved one!” says PETA Celebrity Outreach Principal Jessica Shotorbani. “Nothing’s sexier than compassion, and PETA is delighted to show a little love to some celebrities who are brightening the world with their huge hearts for animals.”

Some condoms contain the milk protein casein, which comes from the dairy industry—in which mother cows are repeatedly forcibly inseminated and their calves taken from them shortly after birth—and in tests for some lubricants and other personal-care products, substances are dripped into animals’ eyes, smeared onto their skin, sprayed in their faces, or forced down their throats. Fortunately, PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies database lists more than 6,000 companies that don’t test on animals, and the “PETA-Approved Vegan” logo helps shoppers easily identify vegan leather and other animal-free accessories, which helps prevent cows from having their throats slit in slaughterhouses.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to experiment on, wear, or abuse in any other way”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org, listen to The PETA Podcast, or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
