Providence, R.I. – College Hill pedestrians will get a Valentine’s Day boost on Monday, when PETA will give away 100 jars of vegan caviar to help would-be lovers enjoy a cruelty-free twist on a classic aphrodisiac—and taste for themselves how anything can be made vegan these days, making it super-easy to reap the health benefits of kissing artery-clogging meat, eggs, and dairy goodbye because they can literally break your heart.

When:      Monday, February 13, 12 noon

Where:     At the intersection of Angell and Thayer streets, Providence

“Eating meat reduces blood flow to all organs, not just the heart, so going vegan can mean the difference between fizzling and sizzling in the bedroom,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “From caviar to croissants, there’s a vegan satisfaction for any craving, and PETA encourages everyone to make the switch to animal-saving vegan meals for Valentine’s Day and beyond.”

Each person who goes vegan spares nearly 200 animals—including female sturgeons, who are often cut open while they’re still alive so that their eggs can be removed for caviar—daily suffering and a terrifying death every year. And in addition to reducing the risk of impotence, plant-powered eating slashes the risk of heart disease by a whopping 52%, according to studies published in the Journal of the American Heart Association.
